Something We Share [END] | Wenrene

Part 2/2

"Wends, are you sure you don't want to hang out tonight? It won't be long so you'll still have plenty of time to rest later." Krystal offered again. The group usually hang out after school to relieve some stress, it's been their habit ever since they formed. Happiness is their number one priority, as Wendy herself always quoted.

"Nah, I'll pass tonight. I wasn't able to sleep well last night since we got guests at home and dad was super loud till dawn." Wendy said with a yawn and added. "But the guests went home early this morning so, it's time for me to recover some sleep."

"Let her be for tonight, Krystal. Didn't you see her got scolded by the teacher earlier because she wasn't paying attention in class? She needs some rest." Sejeong reminded her friends. Wendy is smart and has high grades but lack of sleep always has been her weakness.

"You should have come to my place last night and sleep peacefully, we're neighbors if you have forgotten." Rose said quite worried about her friend.

Each person in the group is fun to be with, they are full of energy and have different vibe to contribute to their fun, however, if one of them is away, they just couldn't stay happy for the longest time. Despite the teasing and bullying, their bond is real and it ignites longing without any other.

"Don't worry about me guys. It'll be just for tonight, and I'll be back to my energetic self again tomorrow to have some fun with you all. And okay, I'll consider that offer of yours next time Rose. Thanks!" Wendy turned her back from her friends and started walking towards the nearest waiting shed in order to catch some bus going home. She didn’t' bring her car with her because she thought it would be difficult to drive when she can't focus on the road. So, to prevent any unexpected accidents, it's better to just commute.

"I could lend you a ride though!" Krystal shouted for Wendy to hear, but the latter didn't bother to turn around, she just waved her hand stating that she'll be fine.

"You think she'll be okay?" Sejeong asked worriedly while her eyes still fixed at the back of Wendy's departing figure.

"She may look like a kindergarten but she's actually a big girl now. Let her be." Lisa finally spoke after her phone conversation. She was talking to her girlfriend, Jennie, asking her whether she would like to join them and she said yes. "Jennie will be joining us tonight, so.. she'll be Wendy's substitute." She joked, she knew her friends detest such remark.

"There's no way she's gonna fill in Wendy's spot. She's way too out of our league." Krystal rolled her eyes and finally walking towards the opposite direction of where Wendy went. Krystal's car was parked near the vicinity of their school, but they have decided to just walk towards the mall since it's near.

"What do you mean by that?" Lisa asked while the group moved.

"Wendy is always up and ready for everything. She always join us to whatever our crazy heads leads us to and she never complain, while Jennie is...." Krystal explained but stopped when she's about to describe Lisa's girlfriend.

"Jennie's what?"

"Jennie's not Wendy." Rose finished.

---

For whatever reason, Wendy felt guilty leaving her friends like that but she knows that she'll only cause them to worry more about her if she join them with a little to no energy left in her body. She'll just make sure to get some rest for tonight and make it up with them tomorrow. Good thing she bought some candies on her way and she'll share them with her friends, those people are simple-minded anyway.

Before she fully arrived at the waiting shed, she saw a child running fast while his arms were fully occupied with lots of things. Wendy knew this would cause an accident any time soon the way the child was moving. So, she sprinted towards his direction to stop him but someone suddenly came out to do that for her. Wendy didn't stop her tracks towards the child though, once she arrived beside them she could fully witness the happenings before her.

The new lady, who Wendy guessed to be around her age, caught the child in her arms. The child started panicking so she made her hold firm and started scolding him. The child who happened to be a boy finally stopped wriggling out of that embrace. However, fear was still shown on his face.

"If I didn't stop you there, you might have tripped and who knows how much bruise you'll have?"

Wendy heard the lady spoke in the softest tone. She was amused how angelic it actually sounded and she bet anyone would melt with that. And Wendy was proven right when the little boy finally look at his captor. A small but guilty smile appears on his face like it drawn to him what his captor meant.

"I'm sorry, noona. I won't run anymore." The boy said with pleasing eyes.

"You are forgiven. But where are your parents?"

"They are over there." He pointed at the cake shop near them. The two female looked to where he was pointing when they heard an old man's voice behind them.

"Ahh! Good thing you caught that boy! He stole toys from my shop! Wait, are you related to this boy?" The old man, probably in his forties from Wendy's observation, said with a huff. Both of the ladies shook their heads.

Upon hearing the old man's angry voice, the boy started wriggling out of his captor's arms and to no avail, he finally escaped and dashed to the cake shop he was pointing to earlier.

"Hey!" All of them reacted by surprise.

"That little brat!" Wendy commented before she even thought about it. That's when the other lady finally became aware of Wendy's existence.

Oblivious to the lady's eyes on her, Wendy was the one who apologized for the little boy's behavior and offered that she'll just pay for the toys that got stolen. The shop owner then smiled at the kind gesture and took Wendy's money even if knowing that she isn't related to the boy at all. "Thank you. My shop is only small, so I really need payment for every items. I'll gladly take this money, young girl." Those were the words of gratitude from the shop owner before he went away.

"Do you have to pay for that?"

Wendy was enthralled when she heard the soft voice again. She didn't expect that the other was still there beside her. That's when she turned to her and alas, she was completely mesmerized the moment her eyes laid on her. It only happens in movies, that's what Wendy thought when it felt like the time slowed down. The lady in front of her was so beautiful, even that word felt like an understatement to what she's really seeing right now. Just earlier, she thought about how her voice could melt anyone down, it sounded so pure and soft to the ears like a lullaby. And seeing her full appearance just make Wendy wonder if perfection doesn't really exist on this planet, because the lady in front of her is the real definition of it.

"W-wow..." Wendy blurted out shortly as her immediate reaction to which the lady left baffled.

"What?"

That's when Wendy perceived what she had spoken. "Ah! S-sorry! I-uhm.." She faked coughing for a few seconds to buy time and think of excuse, but she was completely dazed.

"You're strange." The god-like lady, as Wendy would describe her, stated.

"S-sorry.. " Wendy only scratched the back of her neck to somehow reduce the heat that's spreading to her face.

"I asked...if do you really have to pay for those toys?"

"Oh! Well, you just heard him earlier too right? His shop is only small.. so..."

Wendy was uncertain how to finish her statement because she does kindness naturally even without reasons behind it. So it's a bit difficult to collect the right words, but the beautiful lady seemed like she have understood something and just nodded.

"I'll go ahead now."

"Okay. B-bye?" Wendy cringed at how stupid she had responded. Good thing the lady didn't bother to wait for Wendy's farewell and started walking towards the waiting shed which is almost near their location now.

"Excuse me, but are you following me?" The lady asked frowning when they both ended up sitting on the same waiting shed.

"I wasn't! I just want to go home and it just happened the bus stops here." Wendy said truthfully earning a blush from the latter. That's when Wendy realized how heart started pacing up like it's on a marathon. She did not know when it started, but she knew very well that this lady was giving her this reaction.

"I didn't know you commute." The other lady remarked.

Wendy took a few moments to calm herself before deciding to respond. This strange feeling she haven't experienced before, she mentally noted to search about it to her reliable companion for later, the internet. While trying to collect herself, Wendy looked at her clothes wondering if it gave this lady the idea that she's someone who doesn't commute and it dawned to her that she was still in her school uniform. Good thing she was wearing her jacket and so she immediately covered herself with it and even settled her backpack on her lap. Satisfied with her brainy self, she then glanced at her companion's dress and her eyes instantly widen as she noticed that the girl was wearing the same uniform as hers.

"She's from the same school but, who is she?!" Wendy thought to herself, she tried to recall whether she have seen her before but there really was nothing. How come she didn't notice her before, when she has an appearance comparable to the Goddess of beauty? This time Wendy made a mental note to ask her friends about this beauty tomorrow.

"W-what made you say that?" Wendy asked awkwardly, she realized the silence between them is becoming longer so she forced herself to finally speak.

"I use this route everyday to go home, and it's my first time seeing you... here."

Wendy observed the other, somehow, it felt like this lady was giving double meaning the way she picks her words. Wendy, being a brainy, she attempted to decipher what she had meant but it all halted when the other lady's eyes met hers. And just like that, Wendy malfunctioned and it felt like her heart wanted to come out from her chest. She blinked once, twice... her mouth slightly agape as her eyes begin to wander the other's godly facial features. Wendy was taken aback, she had never seen such beautiful creature in her life, she was enchanted by her. Out of nowhere, she became dreamy, her mind started to wonder if there has already been someone who fully appreciated this art? And if none yet, will she be damned if she do so?

“You fascinate me.”

Upon hearing Wendy, the lady froze and stared at her with wide eyes for a few good seconds. However, when Wendy saw her reaction, they both immediately averted their eyes away from each other. But that was after they saw each others face became fully flushed.

“Ah- I mean.. what I was really going to say was that.. you're right that it's my first time being here. I uhm... I did not drive my car 'coz uhm.. I didn't slept well last night and you know... It's safe to take the bus right? Hehehehe...” Her words were all over the place but it's better than to suffer in silent embarrassment.. Wendy laughed nervously, looking everywhere and scratched her neck for the nth time.

Wendy wished for the other to say something and don't make them dwindle in silence, but the other seemed to have no intention to speak again after Wendy's spur of adoration.

“Oh God! She might have thought I was a creep and perverted. She might have been scared! What should I do?!” Wendy thought to herself, she was regretting her outburst. So Wendy, being good natured as she is, decided to collect her remaining courage and apologize quickly.

“I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. I'm really sorry.” Wendy bowed apologetically towards the lady and the latter just pat Wendy's shoulder to stop her from doing so.

"Stop it. People are looking." The lady spoke worriedly and Wendy obeyed. Their eyes met once again but this time they tried not to hold each others gazes for too long.

"You shouldn't bother to explain and apologize. We don't know each other, anyway."

That's when Wendy concluded that despite being in the same school, the girl seemed not to know her. She's thankful, and hopefully this lady haven't discovered that they are from the same school. Wendy is already contented with this brief interaction and maybe... just maybe... she'll just watch and admire her from afar once she discovered who this lady is. Wendy believed that this lady is way too out of her league, there's no way this lady would ever like someone as her. But truth be told, Wendy felt her heart aches at the self deprecating thoughts.

“That's the point, we don't know each other and that's why manners are important. I'm really sorry."

The other lady smiled and looked at Wendy like she was saying something through her eyes. "So you're apologizing because your compliments aren't sincere?"

"No. I was apologizing because I said it out of nowhere and you reacted like you were frightened by a creep. But hey, I'm not a creep."

The other lady chuckled. "So I looked frightened? Would you elaborate?"

Wendy was liking the sudden change of atmosphere. It's strange how just one smile from a stranger could make her feel comfortable. And so Wendy returned the smile.

"Yeah.. you looked like you have seen a ghost and you're completely red! It feels like you're about to burst in anger like.. boom!" Wendy said with complete hand gesture and sound effects that made the other laughed.

"I was frightened.. and now I'm angry?" She laughed again at the idea then she looked at Wendy who was puzzled at her reaction. "Have you ever liked someone?"

The question caught Wendy off-guard. Her face heated up again and her initial thought was if she got busted. "W-what?! Ha-ha-ha-ha! What does that have anything to what we're talking about... ha-ha-ha!" Wendy continued with her fake laugh.

"I guess not." This time, she giggled and that scene made Wendy zone out. She had never thought making someone laugh would be this fulfilling.

"You're weird."

"I fascinate you because I'm weird?"

"What? No!"

The laugh didn't stop not until Wendy blurted out some truth again, making the latter finally shut up.

"Go ahead and laugh all you want but don't blame me if I build the urge to kiss you."

Silence.

Wendy's eyes grew big at the realization. The lady looked at her but Wendy didn't dare to look back. Shit. Just earlier she was talking about manners and now... She shut her eyes afraid what reaction the other was displaying. There's no way it would be positive anyway so Wendy stood up hurriedly still not looking at her.

"I'm really sorry! Please forgive me again. Just forget that this day ever happened. I'm so sorry!" She bowed multiple times again ignoring the other lady. Wendy dashed out away from the shed, she tried to look back once only to see the latter call out to her but Wendy was too embarrassed and scared to even face her. So she ran away and it's decided now that she'll go home late.

"W-what did you just say?" Wendy finally asked, she was rendered speechless the moment Irene confessed. There were several information she's currently sinking in, the first and the biggest to land her ears was Irene saying she's in love with her. To that alone, she does not know how to react. The second would be, the secret that she holds dearly to her heart, the existence of their encounter at the shed being mutually remembered. Third, the fact that she was mistreated all this while was due to being misunderstood only in one of her nonsensical conversations with her friends. All of these, it's impossible to absorb at once. Wendy doesn't know where to start.

"Do I have to repeat myself?" Irene said, she wiped the tears she didn't realized that escaped her eyes until now. She couldn't believe that confessing her realest feelings like that would actually lighten the weight she was carrying as of the moment. Irene felt somehow relieved but still haven't moved on from the reality that Wendy wanted to stop pursuing her, from loving her.

"I... I don't know, these all are huge to me.. Irene.." Wendy sighed deeply, still trying to generate the right words to say. "I honestly don't know what to say." She said truthfully. Her eyes looked straight at Irene's, silently pleading to give her more time.

"You don't have to say anything to that, Wendy. You said it earlier that you wanted to clear everything before we part, that was just my turn. And hopefully, with that... we're clear with everyth--"

"How could you say that after confessing you're in love with me?!" Wendy blurted out almost angry, she was in disbelief with Irene for belittling her own feelings, both of their feelings for this matter. How could Wendy just let everything pass, or say nothing as if no confession happened? "I've been working all this long to gain your trust and love, for your full attention...and now that I've discovered your real feelings for me, there's now way I could let that pass by Irene."

"Why not? You said you wanted to stop and part ways, why is it difficult to you now?"

Wendy has never been so frustrated at the same time in pain in her entire life until now. "Irene, do you really not understand my feelings for you all this time?"

"I'm no longer sure." Irene lowered her head.

That's how Wendy felt devastated at the sight before her. And as if her body has a mind of its own, she walked towards her and carefully held Irene's arms. "Look at me, Irene."

Irene did not hesitate to do so after she felt Wendy being so near her, the warmth was overpowering her own.

"I really am not good when it comes to words, and I admit I lack expressing my feelings for you in that area. I've always believed that my actions were enough for you to understand me. I didn't expect that you'll grow doubts over my sincerity because of that. But, Irene, my heart decides it's yours when we met in the shed the first time and it continued to be yours even now." Wendy took her time as she remembers the information of Irene being in love with her too. Tears begun to flow from her eyes and it was all because of the overwhelming joy she feels right now. "And I think it'll be forever yours."

"Maybe you're doing something wrong, Wends." Lisa said while munching her rice. The whole group, as usual, gathered at the cafeteria to have some lunch. It has been 5 months now that Wendy begun courting Irene.

"What do you mean?"

"You're the type of person that acts out her feelings more than with words and if you'll ask me, I'd say I do prefer that. But, not all is like me. I don't know Irene, but what if she's the type of person that wanted words to reassure her?"

Wendy paused and think for a while.

"Actions are best but communication is also important key for both of you to mutually understand each others truest feelings." Lisa added when she saw Wendy taking her time to respond.

"It's not really hard to know that Wendy's really in love with Irene, you know. Wendy literally go through hell for her, it's so obvious." Krystal butted in, scoffing. The thought was an absurd idea for her. She could tell what she had witnessed with her eyes all this time, and she knows anyone else could. So what's with Irene?

"That's easy for us to tell because we know Wendy very well." Sejeong said trying to understand both Lisa and Krystal's argument. However, she find herself agreeing with Lisa. Sure, Lisa's a joker but there really are times that her advises are on point.

"Tell me the truth, Wendy. Have you ever told her you love her?" Rose asked. She feels like digging more information before she pick a side between Lisa and Krystal.

"I did say I like her every time she tries to push me away before the courting even came in." She paused for a while and her face begin to heat up with the words she's about to say. "B-but saying I love her? I -I don't think so.."

Rose, Lisa and Sejeong cooed at the sight of shy Wendy. They did not expect Wendy to have such difficulty saying those three words when she's like one of the greasiest person they knew alive.

"Wow. This is unbelievable! The super Wendy who's cheesy and greasy, finding it hard to say 'I love you'?" Lisa laughed but she couldn't hide how she find Wendy so cute right now. The rest were also giggling at the discovery except Krystal who's trying not to comment so the teasing won't be pointed at her. Krystal is also like Wendy who can't say those words so easily. She's too dark for such things after all.

"Yah! Stop it! I don't often say those words to my parents too so... " Wendy defended herself miserably. "Aren't my actions enough to convey my feelings though? I never fail to express my feelings through actions!" She retaliated making her point. Wendy has always been a believer of famous sayings anyways.

"'To see is to believe', now 'actions are better than words'." Krystal quoted while rolling her eyes. "I told you to stop that, some quotes you find on the internet would ruin your life."

"Why are you so against quotations. Seriously, what's wrong with you?!" Wendy argued back but embarrassed even more.

"Alright, alright! Stop it kids, stop the teasing and let's go back to our main business." Rose finally settled the chaos.

"You say your actions never fail to convey your feelings?" Lisa asked, trying to get the group's attention again. She wags a finger and shakes her head disappointingly. "It's a no for me, Wends. I could tell that confidently when I see Irene everyday. She's like the living proof that you failed.." She thought her statement is still lacking to stress out her point so she added. "...and continue failing, in your case."

"You've gone through so much now Wendy. Don't you think it's about time to say the magic words?" Rose advised.

"They are right, who knows, maybe Irene's only waiting for you to reassure her that you still wanted her after all this time." Sejeong finally concluded for the team.

"And seriously Wends, we're already in the 21st century. People just confess right away, if they like each other then they make out, jump in the relationship and if they don't then they go their separate ways. It's as easy as that nowadays. Both of you are so old fashioned."

"Ew. That's gross." Krystal, as always reacted disgustingly to that make out remark.

"People got together so easily and so they will part easily as well. No. I'd rather take the long journey pursuing Irene if it meant we'll be together for a long time as well. Like you know, forever." Wendy stated as a matter of fact earning gagging sounds from Krystal, Rose and Sejeong while Lisa looked at her with pride.

Despite the way they joke around, Wendy looked at them appreciatively. The group had been nothing but supportive of her till now. There's not a day they don't think of tactics and give advise how she could win Irene's heart. It looked like the tables had been turned and that her friends already liked Irene for her now, but it wasn't the case.

The group was really stunned the moment Wendy announced to them that Irene finally gave her the permission to court her. They honestly didn't expect that one because what they just witnessed from the very beginning was Irene's strong reluctance towards Wendy's presence. The news was like a bomb dropped on them, they were caught off-guard and they felt ruined. How could they protect Wendy from that devil now? They knew that Wendy is head over heels in love with Irene, and knowing their friend's personality, she has the tendencies of getting easily fooled by people with bad intentions. They have seen the worst of Irene's treatment towards Wendy before that courtship even begun, how much more could they endure after that?

Despite voicing out their disagreement, Wendy calmly explained to them how much she really wanted and prayed for this. She constantly pleased the group and ask for their approval, and because the group has a huge heart for Wendy, they just let her be and helped her out. The group made it clear to Wendy though, that if Irene ever lay a finger on her or even embarrass Wendy again in public, that's the time that they will interfere and force Wendy to stop pursuing her. And maybe, just maybe, they could finally pull that hair of Irene and slap and punch and kick her on the face. They hated Irene with their whole being but because Wendy kept on talking about Irene happily like her life only revolve around her, they were left with no choice but to allow Wendy do her thing.

"What if she ran away, though? When I say the.. uhm.. uh.." Wendy asked uncertain.

Her friends look at her in horror, just earlier she was being greasy and now this...

"Do you really have to ask that??? If she ran away then that means she doesn't love you back or even like you a bit. Damn it, if that happens I'm going to kill that bitc-"

"Will you shut that foul mouth of yours?" Rose scolded, cupping Krystal's mouth. Despite being halted, Krystal's words already ignited an unforgivable grudge from the group towards Irene but they still try to become positive for the hopelessly in love Wendy. And thank God, there's a Lisa in the group.

"Don't focus on the negative, Wendy. I'm sure after all the things you have done and the greasiness you have displayed this entire time, I bet Irene had been swayed. Who knows she might have peed on her pants coz of too much happiness." Lisa reassured basing it over her own experience.

"Can you stop referencing to your dirty ways? Like Wtf?! That's so gross. Is that what you're doing with Jennie? Ew." Krystal disgustingly reacted and their cat fight begun again.

"You know nothing about such stuff. So will you be quiet? Remember, no love life, no comment!" Lisa mocked while realizing something when the others stared at her like it'll be her final moment. "Oops, sorry. I forgot I'm the only person who has a love life here." She laughed evilly earning a hard slap from Rose.

"Kidding aside now, just go for it Wendy. We'll be here for you no matter what happens." Rose smiled to Wendy and the latter did the same.

"I am not really good with words. I turned out to be a mess." Wendy said as she recalls her first encounter with Irene.

"Wends, the moment you decided to tail Irene everywhere, we already believed you're a mess. So what's stopping you now?" Krystal said nonchalantly.

Wendy gulped, Krystal really knows how to make someone shrink in shame, but she acknowledged it anyway.

"O-okay! I'll tell her the magic words later after school... and maybe ask her already to become my girl." Wendy said determined.

Later after school....

Wendy's group decided to make a short meeting first before going to Irene's classroom. She already texted Irene earlier to meet her after class, so she's sure that the latter would wait for her. A little talk with her friends is what she needed to calm her nerves before meeting her. Truth be told, she was already trembling nervously during the entire afternoon class. Her friends or anyone in her class can't talk to her for long because she was spitting non sense during breaks in between subjects. No words that came out from her mouth connected with whatever topic they were talking about. That's when Rose decided to gather up after class. There's no way they would let go a nervous and non sense Wendy free like that.

"Guys what should I do... my heart just doesn't stop. I think it's going to come out from my chest! W-what should I do?!" Wendy said panicking. That's when Lisa held Wendy's forehead with her one hand.

"Wendy! Stay still, will you? Calm down! Irene's not going to deliver your baby any time soon. Nothing happened between you yet."

"H-how?! Wha..w-what?!" Wendy asked even more confused.

"You stupid asshole!!!" Rose almost punched Lisa straight to her face, but the latter was lucky to dodge the sudden attack. Sejeong and Krystal watched the scene, they are always amazed by how Rose always lose her temper with Lisa all the time. They kinda feel bad that the punch didn't land on Lisa's face though, because it's what she deserved for such a lame perverted joke. It wasn't the time for that, not that Wendy needed them the most.

"H-hey!! Where are you guys going?!" Wendy shouted once Rose started chasing Lisa with her fist.

"Don't worry, Wendy. We're here, and don't wonder why your heart don't stop. It only means you're alive." Krystal said straight face. She really was trying to help, but since she's inexperienced and unknown to love, she just failed miserably.

Wendy blinked multiple times at Krystal's response and Sejeong just face palmed. That's when Wendy realized she's doomed.

"Sorry, Wendy. There's not much I and Krystal could say to help you now. But... just try to focus on your goal for today, and do whatever it is that calms you whenever you're nervous. Like, for me... I always pray whenever there's pop quiz announced in class and I happened to be away from you guys to even cheat. It never failed to make me calm... but I never pass though." She then laughed hysterically.

Wendy thought Sejeong's advice was already enough for her but her example just ruined it.

"Oh I got lots of ways to stay calm too! Like what happened when I was at--" Krystal was shushed immediately by Wendy.

"It's alright, Krystal. I'm already calm." Wendy lied, but she had to pretend or else she's gonna get another terrifying example. "I'm going now, tell Lisa and Rose thanks.. thanks for being useless."

Krystal and Sejeong laughed and celebrated their own victory.

Wendy took the stairs up to Irene's classroom, she was only 2 floors away from her anyway. When she reached the floor Jennie and Jisoo, who looked quite tensed at her arrival, blocked her way to go near the classroom. Just a few steps and she'll reach the room but these two are suspiciously stopping her.

"Uh.. Hi Jisoo! Hi Jennie! Now I said my greetings properly, uhm.. can I pass through you guys now? I mean, Irene's waiting."

"Why don't we talk for a moment? Irene's currently finishing stuff there. She'll come out soon though, so why don't we wait here?" Jisoo smiled nervously and Wendy's growing more suspicious.

"Is there something going on?" Wendy finally asked and this time it was Jennie who spoke for them.

"I told you, Soo, I should be the one to do the talk. You're easily read by Wendy." Jennie sighed loudly only to shy away when Wendy spoke again.

"Both of you were nervous though, I could really tell you guys are hiding something." Wendy scratched the back of her head, somehow she felt guilty for uncovering their plan to deceive her. "What's up with Irene?"

"Sorry, Wendy. We heard you're coming here from Irene so we didn't want you to see some other people confessing in front of her now. Seulgi advised me to do this too so..." Jisoo explained.

"A guy from another class suddenly came and wanting to confess his love for Irene. He's quite popular, so you might know him. His name is Jung Yunho and he's really handsome." Jennie said as she also stressed out the guy's popularity by pointing at the girls gossiping around the hallway.

Wendy tried to recall the name, but the name doesn't bring a bell. Jennie who's been looking at her, sighed in defeat. " Oh yeah. I forgot you're oblivious to trends. You didn't even know who Irene was before."

"Oh. Lisa might have told you." Wendy smiled trying to be friendly but deep inside she wanted to strangle Lisa by now.

"Don't worry, Wendy. I'm just like you, I also don't know the guy. I don't really care about him coz I'm on your side for Irene." Jisoo said kindly and Wendy thought that if she had someone else to thank aside from her friends, then it'll be Seulgi and Jisoo. The two friends of Irene really supported her all this time but Jennie was different.

Wendy thought that she'd also earn Jennie's support because she is Lisa's girlfriend and has the same vibe as Krystal. But to her surprise, Jennie was really distant to her. Seulgi and Jisoo kept saying to don't mind her and that she was just like Irene without elaborating some more, and Wendy has been wondering what it meant till this day.

"You said, Irene's waiting for you. Why don't you go now? I won't stop you anymore." Jennie dared once she saw Wendy relaxed for a moment.

"You seriously tell me that now?"

"Yeah. Go."

"Like I would. I'm not rude you know. And besides, I've already seen several people confessing to her already. I'm used to it by now."

"Tch. And you didn't dare to stop them?"

"Uh. No? I mean, I'm in no place to stop her or anyone who wants to confess to her, right?" Wendy admitted the painful truth. Up to this moment, she still feels like Irene would snap at her if she dared to interfere.

"Aren't you afraid? What if Irene accepts one of their confessions?!" Jennie is starting to get irritated by now.

"S-she would?!" That was the time Wendy remembered that she was supposed to do the same to Irene today. All this time she had witnessed Irene reject whoever confessed to her, be it a boy or a girl, heck she was denied multiple times back then. She honestly doesn't know if her confession of saying the magic words to her and asking for her to be hers would be in the same lane as the others' confessions. Wendy honestly thought that she is on the lead with all other competitors because she gained Irene's approval to court her. She never once asked Irene if there was someone else other than her that was given approval though. Wendy thought it would be better not knowing anything, because it'll be too painful to think that Irene's entertaining someone else.

"I said 'what if', right?" Jennie rolled her eyes upon seeing Wendy's mental breakdown shown on her expression. "Look at you. You're good at reading other people but you don't know how to read Irene."

"What do you mean?" Wendy asked.

"Oh, here comes Irene!!" Jisoo interrupted in between them and waved enthusiastically at Irene. "Over here! Thank God, you came out now!"

The tension building up between Wendy and Jennie has ended once Irene approached them. She greeted her friends first casually and finally gave her attention to Wendy.

"Sorry, I didn't know you're already here. You should have approached me inside the classroom." Irene smiled at Wendy and Wendy wasn't sure if she have to be happy with that smile or not. What did happen with the confession? Did she accepted the guy or what? What's the reason behind that smile?

"I-it's okay. I.. uhm.. just got here anyway." Wendy lied earning a scoff from Jennie but she didn't say anything anymore. Maybe because Jisoo was pinching her side.

"Really? Well then.. let's go?" Irene's smile still didn't vanish from her face when they bid farewell to her friends and it makes Wendy even more perplexed.

For a few minutes, they walk side by side to their destination in silence. Wendy was tormented by the idea of Irene accepting someone else' confession and if her own would still be welcome. A grunt escaped from her mouth completely frustrated.

"Is everything okay?" Irene stopped her tracks to examine Wendy.

"Oh. Sorry, I uhm.. was just thinking of something.."

"Care to share?"

Wendy looked at her with worry. Is it okay to ask a question about her other suitors? Is it too private?

"D-did you accept it?" She asked anyway.

"Huh? Accept what?"

"The confession?"

Irene looked at her like she was the strangest thing she had seen and Wendy immediately took it a negative reaction towards her inquiry.

"Uh. S-sorry! I didn't mean to intrude your privacy. You don't have to answ---"

"No." Irene stopped her from ramblings but Wendy instantly felt her energy soared at the response. She smiled involuntarily at it.

"R-really?" Wendy was ecstatic.

"You should know by now that I'm not into guys, right?"

Of course! How Wendy could forget that? Jealousy surely makes you think differently.

"Yeah. I didn't mean to but I'm glad!"  Her smile went from ear to ear, she was radiating happiness that even Irene couldn't shield from.

"Are there anything you're worried about?" Irene asked.

Wendy was surprised at the question but she took advantage at how Irene's becoming open to her right now.

"Are there someone else like me?"

"What?"

Okay, that sounded really non sense so she corrected herself. "I mean, other than me, do you entertain more suitors?"

Wendy observed Irene's reaction closely, but she was displaying the same straight face like always. It's been hard for her to really read Irene, and that's why she kept guessing what the latter has been really thinking. She never dared to question her though, as she fears that Irene would be dismayed.

"It's just you." Irene said shortly, she turned around and started walking again. Wendy guessed that it was a sign of disappointment, that maybe she wasn't contented with just her courting her? By that moment, Wendy decided to halt her plan to confess.

Sometimes, Wendy just really wished that one day the Irene she had met in the shed would just appear before her. That perfect first impression she had of Irene still stood out for her, and she was holding tight to that memory. The memory of falling for her the first time. Everything would have been easier for her if it happens. But Wendy understood that Irene from the shed and the Irene that stood beside her now are the same.

Wendy loved Irene from the shed and continued to love her till this day despite the pain she was put through, her feelings for her still stood out the most. She may appear foolish and blinded by love from everyone's perspective but she didn't care, she's even willing to acknowledge whatever names people would call her if it means to stay by Irene's side. Why Irene? A lot have questioned, to which Wendy only smiled and shrugged. It's her way telling them that that's just the way things were and she just fell in love. To Irene's side, Wendy felt alive.

"But why me?" As if a memory materialized before her, Irene asked the same question.

In that moment, Wendy summoned her courage and caressed Irene's face with both of her hands. The tears from her face continued to stream, and Wendy tried her best to wipe it dry. She looked at Irene, like she was her world and that she should stop crying because it hurts her the most. "Because I love you." Wendy finally said and when she thought it would stop Irene from crying, she sobbed even harder but this time inside Wendy's warm embrace. "Because you're Irene."

Both of them cherished each other's warmth, the warmth they didn't know they craved for until now. As much as Wendy didn't want to end this right now, she remembered that she still has an important question to ask Irene. She broke the hug which she was sure Irene protested with a little disappointed grunt.

"Irene, my love, will you be my girlfriend?" Wendy smiled like there was no tomorrow, she already knew Irene's feelings for her but she wanted formalities.

"Yes."

Just a single word, Wendy was over the moon. She can't stop her tears, but she was so happy and yet... This is insane! She was about to hug Irene, but the latter distanced herself, and failed.

"Irene?"

"But I have conditions."

"Conditions?"

Irene nodded and Wendy looked at her in worry.

"First. Promise me you'll tell me whatever bothers you. Your truest feelings. I don't want to misunderstand you again and I'll do the same. Let's stop torturing ourselves from holding back."

Wendy didn't know if she had gained super powers when she asked for Irene to become her girlfriend but, it felt like she's able to read her now. Or was it because Irene fully opened herself for Wendy now? By this time, she felt Irene's pain and her regret.

"I promise."

"Second. Please bear in your mind that I love you so much and that you have every right on me. So stop thinking that I don't want anything to do with you when in fact..."

Wendy waited, why does it feel like she's about to hear another confession.

"When in fact?..."

"When in fact that's what I've ever wished for even before I met you personally in the shed."

Wendy's eyes grew wider, so Irene knew her even before that? But why she didn't realized it? How?

"Y-you what?!"

"I've liked you ever since, Wendy. I've heard a lot of good things about you. You're always smiling and spreading happiness to everyone and you never choose people to converse with. I've admired you for that from afar. But in the shed was when I fell for you and continued falling for you... but.."

"But you thought me and my friends were talking ill of you in the cafeteria."

"Yeah so I fought my feelings for you and remembered that people around me wanted me as a trophy and the other else just hates me. But despite that, my feelings for you kept growing especially when you started chasing after me.. and you stood strong after what I made you suffer. I was shaken by your perseverance that I finally gave in to you courting me, it was the time I let you in to my heart willingly." Irene lowered her head, still feeling regret over her actions.

"Trust me, Irene. That time in the cafeteria you were referring to was the time I've asked first about you to my friends that's why you kept hearing your name. Which we didn't really intended for anyone else to hear in the first place. It's just that my friends have this loud voice and bad habit of cursing that..."

"I believe you."

"You do?"

"I believe you.. at least now, I do... that's what matters, right?"

"Y-yes. " Wendy nodded but the new discovery shook her. "I thought I was the one who only fell in love when I met you in the shed, I can't believe that it's something we share. So my instincts were right back then that the words you spoke has double meaning in it."

"Yes but you were slow back then to even understand."

"Wow."

"Third. It's not really a condition but, I just feel the need to say this to you upfront." Irene started crying again to which Wendy held her back into her arms and comfort her. "I'm sorry, Wendy. For hurting you."

"You don't have to think about it now that it's all in the past. Let's not bring that up anymore, alright? But at least now you know that I won't be going anywhere no matter what trials we may encounter in our relationship."

"Really? Says the one who wanted to quit pursuing me just earlier?"

"Hey! That's because I thought..." Wendy trailed off and wiped her girlfriend's tears.

Irene pondered while gazing through her girlfriend's eyes, what did she ever do in her past life to deserve her. She can't find the words to say how much she appreciates her so she just made her hold firmer like her life depended now on Wendy. "I'm just kidding. I understand now, Wendy. I love you."

"I love you too."

"So are you up for my conditions?"

"Yes. Only for you, my bae." Wendy returned the same gesture and held Irene tightly in her arms.

Irene only chuckled when she heard her. "Where is that confidence coming from now?"

"From my Irene. My girlfriend."

Irene laughed heartily and Wendy's happiness soared even higher. Thank God, she stopped crying.

"I did say something about not holding back but I didn't know you're this cheesy romantic, Wendy."

"Uh excuse me, you gals! I'm happy that finally you are now together like finally after all the drama but it's already late and mom who's oblivious Irene unnie's outside, ordered me to lock the door already so... can you both continue your lovey dovey moments tomorrow? And don't ask about the phone call unnie, it was long gone." Yeri appeared again before them.

That's when they separated from their hug and laughed at Yeri's antics. Wendy was about to bid farewell when Irene stopped her.

"Wait! I forgot something!" Irene cupped Wendy's face and the latter did not expect what happened next. Irene kissed Wendy on her lips. It was short and innocent but enough for Wendy's knees to buckle.

"Eeeeew! Not in front of me! Ahh my innocence!" Yeri walked out from them and went inside the house again.

Completely dazed, Wendy admired her girlfriend dreamily. "W-what was that for?"

"My present for you...In case you have built the urge to kiss me again." They recalled their encounter at the shed and Wendy gasped.

"S-stop that! Please don't say a word about that!" Wendy was reddened and Irene chuckled at the sight.

"Why? You were so cute then and even more now."

"W-will I get more presents in the future then?"

"Always!"

"As much as I really want to spend more time with you, it's really getting late. I should be going now, Irene."

"It's dangerous now to drive this late, you might be sleepy by now. Why don't you spend the night here?"

"W-what? I uhm.. but we just got into a relationship... you're my first girlfriend and I don't know how to do it... but i'm willing to explore...if you really wanted it now..."

Realizing why Wendy was flushed and the way she convey her words, Irene blushed and shied away. "YAH!!!" She started hitting Wendy in a girly manner for being way too honest with her. She can't believe she have gotten herself a greasy perverted girlfriend but deep inside she liked it anyway. Anything about Wendy that she'll discover in the future, Irene is excited and is determined to accept and love her even more. Now, it's time for Irene to prove her love for Wendy and she wouldn't really mind if it takes her forever.

Song Collaboration Proposals | Wenrene

A fine morning in the SM Dungeon, Irene and Seulgi gathered for a meeting with the staffs for their creative plans on their comeback stage, when their manager stirred a commotion after joining in late.

"Where were you?" One of the higher ups asked in a serious tone causing everyone in the room stiff.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kim but there was a phone call directed to me by the company while I was on my way here. The talk was quite longer than expected so I had to stop somewhere else." The manager still bowed apologetically despite his reasons.

Irene and Seulgi only watched, worried for their manager but also worried that they would anger their bosses if they try to save him. They don't know what happened either so they just decide to stay quiet.

The boss sighed. "Sit down" He commanded and the manager obliged quickly. "What was it about?"

They are all gathered here for a different reason, but if the boss wanted to know something on the spot, he has the power to make it happen. The manager mentally noted to himself to never be late again, that is if he will be here again after their boss hears what happened in detail.

"Mr. Soo (one of their other bosses) said there was someone asking for a collaboration with our Wendy and asked me if Wendy's condition is already okay to take up some work."

Irene and Seulgi automatically smiled at the mention of their member's name. Irene was ecstatic.

"Come to think of it, we've been getting a lot of proposals from different artists locally and international. Our Wendy surely is in demand." The boss commented and for a few seconds he looked like he's been thinking deeply.

"We've been bombarded lately with love calls for our Wendy." Another higher ups joined in.

"Love calls?" Irene questioned.

"They are for song collaboration proposals." The boss elaborated once she saw how stern Irene's face became.

"Oh." Is what Irene only said, relief shown on her face. Seulgi on the other hand, hit the side of Irene. A gesture saying 'calm your nerves, we don't want you both get exposed here'.

"We'll talk about that in another time. I'll accept your reason." The boss said to the manager and clapped his hands together. "So where were we?" He added making everyone focus again on their original purpose for this meeting. The manager was safe.

After 2 hours of meeting, Irene and Seulgi were on their way to their dorm when Irene started dialing certain someone on her phone. Seulgi put on her earphones, she knows she's about to hear some cheesy conversation and she wants to stay out of it. She have learned her lessons.

"Hello?"  Greeted the person on the other line. Irene put her on speaker mode.

"Seungwan-ah, how are you feeling today?" Irene never let a day pass without asking this to Wendy. She's serious when it comes to her girlfriend's health and when the accident happened, her full recovery has been her priority ever since.

"I'm getting better as usual. I have the best caretaker, anyway." Wendy giggled and Irene can't help but feel proud.

"I'm not your caretaker, I'm your lovely girlfriend."

"Of course, you are my lovely Joohyun unnie."

The driver, who happened to be in his first time to drive the girls' van, looked at the rear-view mirror like he's seen a ghost. He couldn't believe there are still cheesy people like that on the planet. He then looked at the manager on the passenger seat, and just like Seulgi, he was also on his earphones. He now understood everything but as much as he wanted to put on his earphones like them, he isn't allowed to as it'll be very dangerous. Therefore, he just tried to focus his attention back to the road again.

"Yah! Seungwan-ah! I want to write songs lately." Irene said as she remembered something.

"Oh. Really?"

"I want to make music too."

Wendy, who knows her girlfriend all too well, knew where this is going. She must have heard about the new collaboration call. But Wendy wanted to play along, her girlfriend is way too cute.

"Then I want to sing your songs, unnie."

"Of course, you'll be forever my muse to the songs I'll create." Irene said confidently which earned a chuckle from Wendy.

"Really? Forever?"

"Yup. Forever. I'll create music for you so your schedule would be full packed and you don't have to answer to any love calls."

Wendy bursted out laughing while Irene was flushed red. She already held it too long, it's about time Wendy know what's bothering her.

"I knew it. No wonder I smelled jealousy over here."

"Yah! I'm not jealous, but why do they have to word it a love call when they could just say a call, or something else." Irene said with a huff.

"I don't know either but... you know unnie.. I'm really happy that other artists wanted to work with me for a song."

Irene could genuinely feel how much Wendy was so happy over these collaboration proposals. Of course, she hasn't forgotten that her girlfriend is that someone who really loves to sing so she also look forward to opportunities like that for her. Everything that makes her Wendy happy, she will always be grateful. She might be jealous over petty things but, there is no way she wouldn't support her girlfriend on this.

"I can't wait to hear your newest songs with them too, Seungwan. I really love your voice."

"Thank you unnie. I can't wait for our luvies to hear them too, it's been a long time."

"It is."

"So I guess, it's okay to respond to everyone's love calls then. For now?" Wendy smirked, turning playful again. She wanted to tease her girlfriend more.

"Just you make sure they are for song collaborations or else." Irene threatened and Wendy was sure there wasn't any tinge of playfulness from her tone. She gulped.

"O-of course unnie. What else could they be for?"

"I don't know. But I trust you anyway so I'll let you be. Was there any schedule set for the collabs yet?"

"No schedule yet, but the manager said they are already talking about it with the higher ups."

"I see. There are plenty of them, are you gonna collab with them all?"

"I don't know, but I'd love to." Wendy said excitedly.

"Aw. My Seungwannie's going to be busy real soon, are you sure you'll be fine by then? Or do you want me to be there with you all the time? 'Coz I can." Irene offered, of course she knew Wendy's going to be alright by then as she was really recovering well now but she has double meaning in it. She wanted to be with her all the time to make sure no one's gonna make a move on her. Irene knows Wendy is too loveable that anyone would really like her so easily and it irks her sometimes.

"Joohyun unnie, I thought you trust me!!!" Wendy whines, she reads her girlfriend like an open book.

"I do! Just stop making people fall for you." Irene said sternly.

"You know, it's only you who I wanted to fall for me and oh boy, I'm glad I caught you."

That's when the driver set his foot on the brakes in a sudden motion, making the passengers well aware now of their destination. They already arrived to their dorm. "Just right on time." The driver said to himself, there's no way he could survive to hear more from those two.

Something We Share | Wenrene

Part 1/2

"I don't think she's serious" Irene stated before she set her cup of hot chocolate on the dining table. Her glance passed through the shoulders of the companion in front of her, eyeing the small figure of a short haired lady.

"You're saying that after she's been courting you up until now?" Seulgi retorted back as she turned around also looking at the target of Irene's attention, then back at her.

"Well, she's not asking me for my response." Irene shrugged yet a smile graced her face when she saw Wendy laughing at whatever her little sister was talking about with her.

As if her smile was contagious, Seulgi also smiled at what she was witnessing from her friend.

"Maybe Wendy thought you're not yet ready to answer her."

"It's been almost 6 months now, Seulgi." Irene said. Finally she set her eyes to her companion, to emphasize her words to her.

"Well if she asks you now, what will be your answer then?" Seulgi then asked. She had witnessed everything that happened between Irene and Wendy from that whole span of time. How Wendy strived to catch Irene's attention at first, how Wendy finally get Irene nonchalantly saying 'okay' after she asked if she could court her, and how Wendy persevered all this time just to get Irene's long-awaited 'YES' if she could become her girlfriend. But that last one has yet to happen.

To be honest, Seulgi felt bad for Wendy throughout her journey to win Irene. She knew that Wendy had a tough time paving her way to Irene's heart, and yet the sincerity and her good motives outshine above her hardships so she could only hope for Wendy to succeed. Seulgi just wanted Irene, her closest friend, to finally land in good hands and she knew that Wendy is suited for her on that.

"Hey babe!" Wendy winked at her target as she posed cooly beside Irene who's busy taking something out of her locker.

Irene only rolled her eyes, she was already used to this girl becoming a nuisance to her day. "You, again. And will stop calling me babe? I'm not your baby." She then closed her locker and started to walk towards her class.

"Well, to me, you are." The short haired girl swiftly moved the moment Irene started walking out.

"Will you stop pestering me for once?!" Irene started walking faster to get rid of Wendy but the latter paced up as well.

"You know I like you so I wouldn't do that." Wendy said as she wiggled her eyebrows to which Irene fumed after witnessing.

"Aren't you getting tired? I've already rejected you, right? So why are you still here?" She finally stopped, glaring at the lady annoying her.

"No, I'm not getting tired. And yes, you did multiple times rejected me but I've also told you countless times that I'm serious about you, right? So I won't stop until you say yes to me courting you." Wendy responded, and Irene was sure she saw a pain from her eyes when she mentioned about the rejection. But still, she will not waver because she doesn't really have any ounce of like towards this annoying delinquent girl.

"If you're serious about me, you will listen to me and obey my orders for you to get lost!" Irene almost shouted which made Wendy winced a bit and finally backed off, for the day.

"I don't know, to be honest. I'm not even sure if she still likes me." Irene finally answered and brought Seulgi back to present.

"After all this time? She's been there by your side every time, obeying your orders except the one where you wanted her to get lost of course, but still... you know what I mean right?"

"I know.. I know.. but.." Irene bit her lip hesitating as if she'll say something or not.

"Spill it out." Seulgi knew her friend very well so she had to ask.

"I'm not sure if you have heard the rumors going around in campus but..." She looked at Wendy again as if looking for an answer to a question she's about to reveal.

"What is it about?" Seulgi wasn't the type to gossip around so she had to ask, again.

"That Wendy's becoming closer to a student below her batch."

Seulgi blinked multiple times, she squinted her eyes waiting for the latter to laugh as if she's just telling a joke. But looking at Irene, she seemed to be serious about it considering how her eyes gazed downward afterwards.

Seulgi sighed. "Have you asked Wendy about it?"

Irene looked at her with wide eyes. "You think I could just ask her that? When we don't have any label? I don't even know what's with us anymore."

"I could feel your frustrations over here." Seulgi said as she witnessed Irene pulling out her hair after saying her words. "Then why don't you just put label with whatever's in between you two? I mean, your response is  the only thing that Wendy's waiting  for before you guys officially become lovers. Seriously, if you'd ask me, you're the one who's in control of everything right now when it comes to Wendy."

"Have you not heard me Seulgi? I said that I'm no longer sure if Wendy's serious about me. She haven't even asked for my answer all this time!" Irene exasperatedly explained.

"Irene, calm down."

"How can I do that?" She said in a low voice and Seulgi kinda pity her right now.

"With the way you're over reacting towards a rumor and the way you're speaking right now, I can hundred percent assume that you finally, like finally, liked back Wendy now." Seulgi was being giddy, she found happiness over the long awaited victory of Wendy.

"There's nothing to be happy about, Seul. She doesn't like me anymore."

"And why do you think Wendy is here in your house today, talking with your little sister then? Can you explain that to me? I think I'm about to get a headache."

"Hey babe, how's your day?" Wendy asked as she occupied the seat beside Irene in the cafeteria. Irene could only sigh loudly the moment she heard her voice, as if tired of the world already, she ignored her.

"Hi Wendy!" Seulgi greeted with her eye smile.

"Hi Seulgi, how's your day?" Wendy smiled back, at least there was Seulgi to brighten up her day.

"Good. So how's it going with Irene, any progress?" She asked loudly earning a groan from her friend.

"No progress at all, but I'm not quitting."

"Until when you'll pursue her?"

"Until I realize that she doesn't really want anything to do with me at all."

"And you haven't realized yet that I don't want anything to do with you ever?!" Irene finally joined the conversation. Why are they even talking about her in front of her anyway?

Wendy smiled. "Well, you were the one who confessed to me first remember?"

Irene recalled the past and wanted to cling over Wendy's words. "Do you think I made her realize something bad? For her to not like me anymore?"

"Why are you so negative? A few seconds earlier as I checked, she's still pursuing you. So what's with that brain of yours?"

"Maybe she realized I've said too many harsh words to her before?" Irene said not listening to Seulgi at all.

"Why were you so annoyed by Wendy before anyway? You guys haven't revealed anything about that till this day."

"Remember when she said that I was the one who confessed to her first? In one of our conversations in the cafeteria? Does that still ring a bell?"

"Omo, I almost forgot about that. Was that true?"

"You remember Suho?"

"Okay... so how does Suho connect with you confessing to Wendy?"

"You know from the start that I don't like guys, right? And I was sure that I didn't give any signal to any men at all, but that Suho was forcing himself on me. I mean, he's asking me out on a date and all..."

She examined Seulgi first for any glint of familiarity with whatever she was saying, and seeing her immersed with her words and staying quiet made Irene continue.

"So I grabbed any pretty lady around in the hallway we're in and told Suho that I'm that lady's girlfriend for him to back off. And it was effective, but I didn't realize it was Wendy, the student who's most popular on being a chic magnet and a delinquent who I grabbed that day."

"Wow." Seulgi clapped slowly, amused. Irene hit her instantly to stop her.

"It sounds superficial right? But that really happened."

"I thought these things happen in movies only. But look at that!" Seulgi mocked but was insanely interested to their story.

"Stop it, Seul. I was totally out of options to get rid of that Suho."

"I'm not really the type to believe in fate or anything unbelievable but do you think it's fate playing with you two?"

Irene was about to puke. Sure, she's falling for Wendy but that doesn't change a thing that she's allergic to everything sappy and greasy and mushy. And out of all people she knew, it was coming from Seulgi.

"Everything's just a coincidence my friend. But I guess if it weren't Wendy, I don't think we'll end up where we are today. I mean, nobody dares to get close to me except her after all those viscious rejections and humiliations I made her face."

"Aww poor Wendy. But hey, she's serious when she says she really wanted to win your heart despite it all, huh?"

SLAP!

"Dammit, Wendy! I don't like you! How many times do I have to tell you that?! It was all just an act, me declaring that I was your girlfriend. Stop being delusional and move on!" Irene shouted at Wendy in front of all people surrounding them. They were in a prom night, and right after Irene was done dancing with Seulgi, Wendy went straight at her to ask for permission for a dance with her.

Irene refused right away but Wendy was confident to dance with her that night. She held Irene's hand carefully just to stop her from leaving but what made Wendy startled was the unexpected hand flying to slap her on her face. Irene slapped her. What did she even do to deserve that from her? Did she held her wrist too strong that it hurt her? Wendy was puzzled.

"I just wanted a friendly dance with you, that's all." Wendy said with teary eyes to which Irene felt bad but she couldn't bring herself to apologize. Not in front of these people witnessing this drama.

"Oh come on, Irene?! What did you just do?!" Seulgi said right away after the exchange. She pitied Wendy for yet another embarrassment that Irene put her into.

"Wendy, why are being so stupid about me? Can you just leave me alone? I beg you." Irene said softly this time. She knew she went overboard and that she somehow regrets her actions but she can't help it. She believed that what she did to Wendy was the result of her outburst of annoyance she held back for the girl.

"I told you, I want to win your heart. So I won't back-off even if you embarrass me in front of all these people." Wendy said as she slightly recovered from the stinging pain still lingering on her cheek.

Irene and Seulgi only looked at her like they were about to go insane. Irene bit her lip, trying to control her anger that once again emerging while Seulgi looked at Wendy in disbelief. How far could one go when it comes to love? Seulgi could only wonder.

Irene, without a reply from Wendy's remarks, walked out that event after.

"Why didn't you like her from the beginning anyway?" Seulgi asked then Irene was once again snapped back to present. "Wendy is beautiful, smart, rich and famous in school. Everyone likes her except you."

"It just scared me. All of a sudden the famous Wendy wanting to court me."

"Oh so, the truth finally came out!" Seulgi said amused yet again. Her discoveries within this day from her friend surely feels like a confession of sins in the church. Yet, she knew she has no right to judge her. Not to be in resemblance to a priest but because she is her best friend after all.

"Whatever."

"Your insecurities holding you back, right from the start... seriously, Irene. Look at you, if Wendy is famous in our campus, tell me if you're incomparable to that. You're as famous as her! Hello?!! Campus' girl crush?" Seulgi stated as a matter of fact. She doesn't know anymore what was poisoning Irene's thoughts all this while. But at least it's better that everything is coming out at once now.

"Like I told you earlier, Wendy is famous for being a delinquent as well. She smokes, her friends are the same, and she's always surrounded by other female. How will I trust that her motive to court me was because of love? What if it was all just a bet? Like what the movies shows us?"

"Irene, just because she smokes means you could call her a delinquent. Stop judging her because of that, and anyway she quit right the moment you told her that you don't want the smell of a cigarette smoke right? And come on, those girls surrounding her were her close friends. Rose, Lisa, Sejeong, Krystal, it just so happen that those people are so close, like really close, to her. Wendy is likeable after all, reason why I really don't understand why you hated her. And for god sake, this is reality not a movie. This is basically your love story Irene."

"Okay." Irene sighed deeply. She had given up.

"Okay? Like okay I can court you now?" Wendy asked with a gleam in her eyes. She felt like crying, finally all her hardships paid off!

Irene was battling a smile appearing on her face. She can't help it when Wendy was showing her goofy excited face.

"Will you relax? It's not like I've said yes to you to become my lover."

"Well, to me it's one step closer to that! I mean that was one big leap to your heart! I'm so happy!" She clasped both of Irene's hands due to her adrenaline rush to which made the latter startled. But Irene did not push her away for some odd reason of being amused to what she's witnessing in front of her. Wendy could be really adorable at times.

"Excuse us for interrupting your heart to heart talk with Seulgi, but aren't you guys forgetting that you have a guest?" Yeri, the litlle sister of Irene, set foot to where they were and reminding them of the forgotten Wendy.

Irene then stopped reminscing as she saw Wendy's figure just right beside Yeri, she blushed at the sight of her.

Seulgi, who witnessed Irene's inability to speak due to being foolishly in love, believed that she has to do something for their growing love. "Oh, yeah, by the way, it's time for me to leave now. Wendy!!" She stood up from her seat and raised her hand in front of Wendy.

Wendy who was confused did the same, and when the hand was raised, Seulgi hit it immediately and said. "Pass! Now, Irene is all yours." She winked and vanished from the dining area without forgetting to take Yeri with her.

Irene on the other hand panicked and couldn't look straight at Wendy, not when her heart was nowhere stable upon her conversation with Seulgi. A lot of flashbacks were enough for her heart to be disturbed like, now.

"Uhm, I think I'll go as well. I already ate dinner here , which wasn't my intention in the first place, but your family is really welcoming. I'm kinda getting attached." Wendy said as she smiled at Irene. It's been almost six months that Wendy came in and out of this household, Irene's family became her family as well instantly. Irene's parents were really scary at first, where could Irene inherit those traits in the first place but them, but Wendy did her best to warm up to them. As much as she could, she would show them courtesy, give them gifts whenever she comes during someone's birthday celebration or other important occasions. Wendy would also did her best to help in some other ways, like household chores, cleaning the backyard, etc. She could be mistaken as their maid now by their neighbors. That's how often she comes to Irene's house. Thankfully the parents were really open-minded when it comes to their daughter's preferences.

Aside from Irene, the only thing that Wendy find quite difficult was her little sister, Yeri. No matter how much Wendy tries to pull out her bad side from deep within herself, she just can't put up with the devil. Wendy had to suffer to Yeri's several pranks, constant nagging, constant 'buy me this, buy me that' kind of things. Wendy, being whipped for Irene, did her best and gave in to whatever requests Yeri wanted. Surprisingly, despite that toxic relationship she has with Yeri, they both became closer. Yeri always confides to Wendy  when she has problems, be it at school homework, crushes, allowances and family misunderstandings.

Wendy thought that the only person that she had not win by this time was Irene, the one she's actually courting.

"Oh. Sorry I was not able to talk to you after we had dinner, it's just that Seulgi came to visit as well. You know, we haven't seen each other for weeks." Irene said a bit guilty. Wendy lives away to her house with about 2 hours of travel time, and yet...

"It's okay. Seulgi is important..." Wendy said without malice, she just say what she really considered as a fact in the life of Irene.

Irene however felt her heart quenched. Seulgi is important, and Wendy isn't? "I-I'm sorry." She apologized right away.

Wendy who saw Irene feeling guilty, panicked. "Ah! No-no-no-no! I don't mean anything wrong about that of course. Seulgi is your bestfriend after all. So what I'm saying is that, it's only normal to give more importance to her of course." She said it without a thought of comparing herself to Seulgi at first but that came out from her mouth with slight bitterness. She suddenly thought that perhaps, she was really a nobody when it comes to Irene. That was really a painful thought, but it's not the first time that it crossed her mind. Wendy knew it from the very start, but she dared to battle it out just because she was really curious and in love with Irene.

"Anyways, I'll be going now."

"Wait, I'll walk you to your car."

"You don't have to."

"I insist." Irene said as she dragged Wendy out of the house.

When they set foot outside and started walking slowly to Wendy's car, both of them has something to say to each other but they couldn't find the courage to do so.

"Wendy! You wouldn't believe it, but your precious Irene who's famous for having a scary resting bitch face approached us." Krystal announced the moment she reached Wendy's location. She rolled her eyes while saying the 'precious' word and immediately took one cigarrette from her freshly opened pack. "Lights?" She turned to Wendy hand gesturing a lighter.

Wendy gave her a lit and Krystal instantly inhaled a smoke. "You shouldn't be the one saying that you know. I mean, you do have that same RBF after all." Wendy reminded her friend jokingly. "And here, since I stopped smoking, this one's yours now."

Krystal rolled her eyes to her remark but she accepted the lighter willingly."Well surprisingly, she helped us earlier. It was shocking and funny at the same time coz we weren't expecting her to do such kind act." She examined for a while the lighter, it was something that Wendy always buys and lose after once or twice of usage despite it's expensive value. "Thanks for this! I'll make sure to keep it till it's last light"

Wendy giggled at her reaction but clears her throat as she wanted to know more about the first topic. "So.., how did you met her?"

"Earlier when Sejeong and I were on our way to the gym carrying boxes of materials we'll use for our P.E., Irene and her bear-like companion helped us out of nowhere."

"Just that?" Wendy asked as if she was expecting bigger news.

"Just that? Well, to me it was surprising! Like heck, that demon has some tiny bit of kindness running through her veins. Ugh, I'm gonna get back on Sejeong after making me carry all the heavy ones."

"Well I knew from the start that she's kind and caring to others even with that resting bitch face you have mentioned earlier. So I'm not surprised." Wendy laughed at the thought to which Krystal looked at her, confused.

"You always brag about Irene and her superficial angelic traits and yet you don't elaborate. How can we, your friends, believe that when what we usually witness with Irene was her sick attitude towards you. Always pushing you away and embarrassing you?" Krystal puffed a smoke the last time from her cigarette stick and throw it on the ground before stepping on it.

"At least with that you believed me now, right? Witnessing that trait of hers I was bragging about. I mean, there's a saying 'to see is to believe' after all." Wendy giggled while she looked at Krystal with a disbelieving look emanating from her face.

"You're unbelievable. But just because she helped me once and called her kind for that matter doesn't mean that I have approved of her for you. I just couldn't forget all the hellish events you have suffered because of her."

"I told you guys, don't judge a book by it's cover. You guys are just seeing one side of her everytime."

"Wendy, will you stop blurting out quotations you just found on the internet!"

"But they hold huge impact if you apply them right, though." Wendy pouted to which Krystal sighed. She knew, even if Wendy doesn't voice out anything, Wendy is still hurt with their habit of bad mouthing Irene's bitchy personality. But what can they do? If it weren't for Wendy stopping them, they would have pulled Irene's hair and started a fight from long ago. Nobody messes with their ball of sunshine in their group which is Wendy.

Their circle of friends doesn't understand why Wendy is so head over heels with Irene, setting aside the fact that the girl has ethereal beauty, other than that they think that Irene is really garbage. So, they just don't understand why. And considering also that Wendy doesn't really look at physical appearances as her criteria to like someone, there really must be something else. Wendy is the type of person that is friends with everyone, it no longer surprises them everytime Wendy started talking to a stranger out of nowhere everywhere they go. She's the really the epitome of kindness on earth, so the group wanted to protect her no matter what. But for some odd reason, they just couldn't protect Wendy from Irene.

Upon witnessing Wendy go through the lengths of things she could do for Irene, the group just don't want to fall in love. Love is such an odd occurence, and they don't want to mess nor get involved with it. Love makes everyone fools and Krystal, Sejeong, and Rose are too smart for it.

"Looking at you, I don't want to fall in love." Krystal sighed in defeat. "Ah! But seriously Wends, me and our circle of friends still don't get what is the thing you have seen in her. It must be something huge, huh?"

"Trust me, you don't have a say when it comes to love. It's inevitable, one thing you knew it already slapped you on the face... and it's really hard."

The moment Krystal heard Wendy's statement made her want to puke, so she made a gagging sound as her usual reaction to Wendy's cheesy moments. Krystal is too dark for such sweetness... it's not her style. "Ew".

"So, I'll go now." Wendy gestured going inside her car to Irene. She flashed her usual soft smile that feels like nothing's wrong going inside her now.

Irene examined her, she knew after spending all this while with Wendy, there was something bizarre. "Wait!" She stopped Wendy from going inside her car and held her hand. Wendy almost lose her shit at the contact.

"U-uhm... yes?" Wendy asked nervously.

"You... did something happen? Do you have something to say to me right now?"  Irene doesn't know exactly what but she felt like Wendy wanted to say something to her that she's been contemplating whether to say or not. Wendy was acting weird the moment she stepped in their house. Somehow, for an unknown reason, she felt nervous and worried.

Wendy glanced at Irene but broke the contact the moment their eyes met. And from there, Irene confirmed that there really is something going on. Wendy usually doesn't avert her eyes anywhere, it always has been Wendy taking all the time in this world looking at her like she's the only one that matters. It always made Irene uncomfortable in their early stage of their weird relationship but lately it was the only thing that made her heart race.

"Wendy?" Irene called and stopped the latter from her squirmy and nervous state.

"Uhm.. I.. I-uhm just wanted to say something..." Wendy said shyly and it made Irene's heart beat so fast.. faster than it's usual state whenever she's with Wendy. Could it be the event she's been anticipating? Will Wendy finally ask her now?

"What is it?" Irene asked still trying to act normal when her heart is already about to explode.

"I know it's been a long time now that I'm pursuing you...so.. I-uhm.." Wendy rubbed the back of her neck even if it wasn't strained or itchy, it's been her habit whenever she's anxious about something.

Irene gulped nervously.

"I've been thinking about this for a long time now, but I'm sure it wouldn't shock you or anything if I were to say it now." Wendy once again looked at the latter's expressions to find hints that confirms her thoughts. She smiled to herself bitterly and sighed deeply.

Irene was already loosing her mind, she's so nervous but even so, she have learned how to hide her true emotions over the years so no one is able to see right through her. So she'll be fine now right? Because she have to, to stay firm and hear out Wendy asking her to be hers clearly.

"I came here today to tell you that, I'll stop pursuing you now." Wendy said and even though it was painful for her to say those words in front of her, she still do so in order to convey to Irene how much she's also grateful for the past that they have shared. She looked at Irene for reactions and yet again, it was all the same and it hurts Wendy knowing that perhaps she was true that she didn't matter to her after all this while pursuing her.

Irene on the other hand was dying inside. Did she heard her right? Her world started collapsing, she was expecting something else, something that she thought both of them could celebrate and not this. How did they ended up here? Was she right all along? That Wendy found someone else in that girl younger than her?

"I at least have the right to know why, right?" Irene's voice came out shaking, and she hates showing weaknesses but she can't help it. She can't help it when her heart is breaking.

"Because I realized that..." Wendy paused for a moment to tame her aching heart at the self-deprecating words she's about to say.  "That maybe the words inside my head were right, that you might really not want to do anything with me."

"Until when you'll pursue her?"

"Until I realize that she doesn't really want anything to do with me at all."

"And you haven't realized yet that I don't want anything to do with you ever?!" Irene finally joined the conversation.

Irene gasped as if Wendy's words right now and the memory from the past weaved together to haunt her now. She started having difficulty to breathe at her current state when reality is breaking her into pieces. A reality that the Wendy who wanted her for a long time vanished right before her eyes. Irene wanted to say something, at least to disagree on Wendy's false claims about her feelings towards her, but she couldn't do so because right now, she was too focused on trying hard to hold back her tears. She knew that once she shed even a single tear, it would be the start of her breakdown.

Both of them remain oblivious of each other's true feelings towards one another. They stood in silence for a few seconds, Wendy looking anywhere but Irene while the latter was already having an emotional breakdown inwardly even before she knew it's already happening.

The painful silence only ended when Yeri's presence appeared before them. "Irene- unnie, there's a phone call for you. There was a sense of urgency so I had to call you out." She then apologized to Wendy. "Sorry Wendy-unnie."

Yeri was young but she knows how to read a bad situation and right now is one of it. The tension was real between the two and no matter how much she wanted to know the reason behind it, she has huge respect for her two favorite unnies to even ask anything.

Wendy stepped outside the convenience store to have a smoke. Her broke friends wanted to have cheap dinner so they crashed to the place after Krystal lost in a toss coin game. Wendy was just happy to accompany her friends wherever and whatever the events are. Because whether they are big or small, as long as she's with her friends, she's already having the time of her life. She glanced at the dirty window glass pane to see her friends bickering over what to order and with the looks of it, it's Krystal again giving a disgusting look at every order suggestions that the others give. Wendy laughed to herself, Krystal could be such a brat sometimes.

Wendy feels like she's so lucky in this world, having the best things she have in life right now and she doesn't have much problem to think about too unlike anyone else. And because of that feeling, she fears that one day all of it would disappear. That's why she wanted to share the happiness to everyone so that once it disappears to her, she knows that she already spread the remnants of it somewhere else to continue existing and maybe someday that happiness would be back to her again.

Truth be told, there was actually someone that taught her think that way and it was someone she would never forget.

"What is she doing?" Lisa asked her friends while they were currently making a commotion from the other buyers on the line. She was asking about Wendy who's now looking at a distance.

Sejeong answered. "You never get used to Wendy. She's always like that when she's thinking deeply but you will never understand." She then shake her head looking at Lisa.

Lisa was then provoked and crossed her arms.  "What are you implying?"

"She says you don't think so you'll never understand" Krystal licked her ice cream while saying that nonchallantly.

"What the fu-?!" Her mouth was covered immediately by Rose before she could say any bad words.

"Now, now. Stop fighting children." She shook her head disapprovingly while holding Lisa's mouth. "Is she okay?" Rose asked Krystal who looked worried at Wendy outside as well.

"I think she's in love." Lisa blurted out when she finally escaped Rose' hand suffocating her.

"What the fuck?!" It was Krystal finally saying the curse words and Lisa's eyes grew bigger.

"Hey Rose, why didn't you stop Krystal from saying that? You're so obvious with your favoritism."

"Because that's all our reactions combined to what you're saying." Rose rolled her eyes.

"You actually believe such bluff? There's no such thing as love." Sejeong said disgustingly.

"You guys are so bitter. Is that how it feels when you don't have a love life?" Lisa said confidently... and mockingly. She has the upper hand on that one anyway, because she got Jennie as her girlfriend.

"Ew." Krystal rolled her eyes and the rest of the bitter ones ignored her and resume picking whatever the hell there is on the menu. The cheap ones.

"Huh! You can't forever bully me y'all, when you guys haven't experienced love." She bragged and went her way to Wendy outside, maybe she could redeem a friend in Wendy now that she pisses off everyone else.

"You okay?" Lisa asked.

"Oh. Yup, why?" Wendy asked in return and she offered Lisa a cigarette to which the latter shook her head.

"Nope. I already quit that thing."

Wendy then looked at her in disbelief. "Really? Since when?"

"Since Jennie asked me to stop yesterday." Lisa said like quitting smoking was the easiest thing to do on the planet.

"Wow. That needed a lot of willpower to quit. I mean, you've been a chain smoker since, like... forever."  She smirked.

"Hey! I'm not like that! Well, I love Jennie, so..." She shrugged to which Wendy laughed.

"Maybe I could do the same." Wendy said shortly and Lisa looked at her knowingly.

"OMG!" Her eyes grew bigger and her smile wider. "I knew it! OMG, those bitter ones would shit a brick! HAHAHA!" She laughed loudly to which the other passerby looked at her like she lost her mind.

Wendy laughed along with her, but hers was elegant and Lisa's wasn't.

"Why are you so happy over what I said? I said the 'maybe' at first, right?"

"Nah! I was just happy over my victory, Wendy. I'm always happy when I'm on the sweet side and not on the dark and bitter side like it was inside."  Lisa pointed inside the convenience store to which she make face when her eyes met Krystal's.

Wendy blinked her eyes, trying to comprehend her friend. "You guys are at it again, what nonsense did you guys fight about this time?"

"It's not important Wends, and it's bitter so let's forget about that." She brought Wendy closer to her by placing her right arm above Wendy's shoulders, she whispered. "So who's the lucky girl?"

Wendy didn't think twice, she described the girl she met at the waiting shed the other night while waiting for a bus. Lisa may looked like she's a clown in the group but she's actually really good when it comes to lending an ear and giving some advice, so Wendy felt safe telling her about that encounter she had. Well, she's comfortable with anyone in their circle of friends, it's just that she knew it was only Lisa who could understand her on this kind of matter anyway.

"Can I just point out?" Lisa said once Wendy was done telling her story.

"What?" Wendy looked puzzled.

"Your eyes were sparkling when you describe her."

"I-Is it a bad thing?"

"You inexperienced fool." Lisa jokingly said and Wendy shook her head. "Don't worry, Wends! Your sunbae in love's here to help you out."

"I was just asking whether that's a bad thing or not and you're here bragging nonsense right in front of me. Like, what the fu--" This time, it was Wendy caught by Rose' hand to shut her up.

"Our orders are ready, go inside before the little monsters eat up everything." Rose then looked at Wendy with a scolding face. "Since when did you start cursing?!"

"I'm outta here. Let's go Wends, we'll continue our conversation tomorrow at school. We're gonna hunt down a babe tomorrow!" Lisa escaped, she knew the blame would fall unto to her so it's better now she flee as a whole.

"What's she talking about?" Rose put her hands on her waist as if scolding a little Wendy.

"It was nothing, really. Shall we go inside? I'm starving!"

"Wendy, you shouldn't listen to Lisa's shits and stuff okay? Remember our rule, never go down her level."

Wendy chuckled. "You guys tease Lisa way too much and yet I know that you guys would throw a fit when someone else try to bully her."

"Of course. No one bullies her but us." Rose said boastfully and then her reaction changed when she suddenly remembers Lisa's been bullying them back too. "Hey, Wendy! You just didn't see her bully us back there but she was the one making fun of us!" She whines but Wendy already went inside.

The next day at the cafeteria...

"Holy mother of fu-"

"LISA!!!" Krystal, Sejeong and Rose said in unison. They don't want Wendy to pick up such kind of words.

Wendy chuckled at the scene. This is the reason why people thought of them wrongly but she doesn't mind because she knows the truth about them and that's what's important.

"I was just so shocked at the realization that the person you described to me yesterday was none other than the one and only baest bae in the campus. Like the literal Bae."

"Can your voice be any louder? 'coz I think only 80% of this school's students heard what you said." Krystal said in her usual sarcastic tone while Wendy face palmed.

"Poor Wendy, you must have regretted you told your secret first to her." Sejeong joined the conversation.

"Lesson learned, Wends. Next time, tell a secret to any of us trustworthy friends and leave out Lisa to anything. She doesn't contribute anything useful anyways."

"I only asked Jennie if she knew a girl with whatever Wendy's description was and I never expected she would hit the bull's eye for me." Lisa said apologetically at Wendy. "Don't worry Wends, I leave out the part that you like Irene from Jennie. So your secret is still safe."

"It's impossible not to realize who that was, I mean Wendy literally laid the most obvious description of a Bae Irene right there in front of you and you have no clue at all." Krystal said.

"Seriously guys, stop fighting over it and could you ALL also stop shouting her name? Like... I won't be surprised anymore if she actually heard you all by now." Wendy sighed, she wasn't ready for her secret crush to be revealed and never in this kind of way.

"So, anyone here who have encountered Irene personally other than Wendy? We all know that she's the campus' girl crush and is a higher batch so I think it's a bit hard." Krystal started asking seriously and this time with a low voice for them to be heard only.

"Come to think of it, she's really popular Wendy. How come you didn't knew it was her?" Rose asked.

"I know and heard the name before, but I didn't know her face. That's why..."

"She's way too busy with the actual girls in front of her to even bother about just a popular name." Sejeong added for Wendy who's slightly blushing.

"But now it will all end because someone finally caught her heart" Lisa smiled knowingly at Wendy while the others make gagging sound as usual.

"Will you guys stop? I'm losing my appetite here." Krystal said disgustingly. "Back to my question though? Anyone here got to interact with Ms. Bae?"

The group only shook their heads stating that they haven't. "Well I'm not surprised. Irene, despite being popular, seems to be very anti-social. She's often quiet and does not entertain company except the bear looking thing always beside her, Jisoo..."  Rose then turned to Lisa. "..and Jennie."

Lisa then smiled at the mention of her girlfriend's name only for Krystal to roll her eyes at her reaction.

"The bear's name is Seulgi, I think." Sejeong corrected. "I heard her name one time in the hallway."

"That doesn't matter, Sejeong. I need information about Irene here not the bear. Come on, focus." Krystal said almost angry.

"Why is she so serious about this?" Rose mouthed to Lisa, which she only shrugged.

"Guys, I don't need anything anymore now that I know her name. That's enough for me."  Wendy finally spoke and she was telling the truth. For now, knowing these additional facts about Irene, she'll be contented and probably just watch her from afar. And maybe.. just maybe.. If fate gives her an opportunity then that's when she'll make a move and get closer to Irene. She'll make sure that she would grab it and hold onto it tightly.

"But Wendy..." Krystal whined.

"Stop it." And then there was silence that befalls them. Krystal just wanted to help because she wanted to make her friend happy, that was all.

"Let's just abide whatever Wendy says about her little crush, okay? Besides, there's nothing you can do anyway, I mean, you don't have a love life either." Lisa finally started... a war.

"Damn you!!!"

"Ignoring those two cat fighting right now." Rose was referring to Krystal and Lisa then she continued. "I think you already leave an impression with Irene too, Wendy."

Wendy was then caught by that. "What do you mean?"

"Of course, we haven't forgotten about how popular you are as well." Sejeong butted in, totally agreeing with Rose.

"Holy shi-"

"WENDY!!!" The girls scolded.

"Do you think, she knew it was me?!"

"So what if she knew it was you? Wouldn't be that an advantage?" Krystal finally calmed down but her hands were still on Lisa's neck, strangling her.

"There's no way she wouldn't notice it was you. Unless Irene's like you who doesn't care about famous people's names as well." Sejeong stated.

"Oh no!" Wendy said whi'e blushing. She was embarrassed over something and was about to pull her hair when Lisa spoke.

"Oh I get it! Something BIG might have happened in that waiting shed!!!" Lisa concluded.

"I'll be there in a minute, Yeri." Irene said to which Yeri nodded and went inside the house. Her voice were clearly shaking despite the effort of making it still.

She sighed deeply before asking, "Was there someone else?" There. She finally asked about it, because it's been bothering her now and if she didn't ask about it before they part, Irene knew well that she'll fall apart once they saw them together in campus.

"W-what?! Of course there was nobody else, Irene." Wendy said turning pale at the thought. She couldn't take off her eyes from Irene all this time pursuing her so how could she even see anyone else?

Irene's heart melts at what she heard but it doesn't take away the pain that they are both parting.

"Then who was the girl you're being close with in the lower batch?!" Irene said almost shouting and it made Wendy startled a bit.

Wendy thought for a while before something pops out from her head. "Oh you meant...Joy? "

"I don't know who that is, and I don't care really. I just heard you've been close to her lately. So it must be her that made you stopped pursuing me." Irene huffs. She's feeling mixed emotions right now, from happy then hurt, sad and now angry or even jealous! Damn Wendy for making her feel different emotions at once.

"Joy's my cousin, Irene."

That short response from Wendy finally made Irene shut up with her baseless accusations.  "Oh. S-sorry."

"It's okay. It's better that everything's clear before we part. There was no one else, Irene. And I honestly am not sure if there will be anyone else in the future."

"Then why are you stopping?! Did I do something wrong for you to think that way? I know I've done you wrong in our early stage of knowing each other, but I've changed!" Irene said almost out of breath once finished.

Wendy blinked, trying to figure out what Irene is trying to say. "Does she want me to continue pursuing her?" She thought to herself.

Due to Wendy's silence, Irene continued her rage. Wendy wanted to clear everything? Then Irene would do the same and no one's stopping her now from revealing her realest feelings and thoughts not even Yeri who's still calling her non stop because of that damn phone call. Wendy is more important. Her overflowing feelings right now is more important!

"You know what? I hate you! When you first approached me while we were on the shed, you act so nice towards me. I almost believed your act despite knowing that a huge number of students in our school hates me for being the campus girl crush, for being popular, for being pretty, for whatever reasons I don't know! But since it was you, the famous Son Wendy who's actually popular also for being nice towards anybody... I thought there was hope in you, for not hating me, for acting so kind to me without evil intentions like the others. But the next day proved me wrong, I hear you and your friends cursing while hearing my name as well. Who knows what you guys have been talking about me? I was so disappointed and mad at you so I made sure to always avoid you because you're just like everybody else. You're a jerk, a chic magnet and a delinquent after all!  And then there was the incident with Suho, and accidentally saying you were my girlfriend for him to stop pestering me...and from then onwards you never left me alone. You keep chasing me like a fool, acting like you look out for me, like you cared for me... like you..." She paused for a while embarrassed at her next words because she really believed in it.

"...like you really loved me despite the hell I've put you through. So why stopping now, Wendy? Why now that I'm so in love with you?!"

10 Years Apart | Wenreneseul

"I can't believe this!" Seulgi stomped her way to her seat in their classroom. Her aggravated presence can't go unnoticed by her bestfriend, who is her seatmate as well.

"It shouldn't be bad as you imagined it to be. Who knows, your soon to be younger sibling would turn out to be adorable." Irene said trying to lighten up her mood. Seulgi called her last night crying but mostly whining about what she described to be a disastrous news that her parents decided to adopt a new kid. But what does she know? Irene has a younger sister and she will never understand what an only child like Seulgi would feel about such matter. A matter that her parents suddenly dropped and what's worse was that, Seulgi's opinion didn't even count. Her parents already said the adopting papers were already near completed and that the new kid will be home with them by next week. Perhaps she could understand a bit of that disappointment of not having heard so she took back what she said. "Okay, maybe it is bad but what can you do about it? The new kid's probably being prepared to be delivered at your door."

"I hate mom and dad, they didn't even asked what would I feel about this. Or if I ever even wanted a sibling." Seulgi said as she sinks in her chair. It's only morning but she's already having a bad day.

"Did they mention if it was a boy or a girl?"

"Well, yeah. It's a girl and that's the worst!" Seulgi almost cried. Of course, she was an only child who's like a princess in their household, her parents attention were all on hers. But now? Not anymore. She can't imagine how she'll cope up with this at all.  It's awful that it was a girl and it's younger than her. Great! How can she compete with that?

"So if it's a boy, you'll be okay with it?" Irene probes.

"Maybe, and if it was older. Irene, I don't know what to do. Maybe it's my punishment for stealing desserts in the fridge when mom and dad said no." Seulgi fakes crying but it almost felt real to Irene. Perhaps this new kid could somehow change this childish Seulgi and become mature enough to bring out an unnie out of her. Irene thought that Seulgi surely is a great child but heck they are already in senior high school, 16 to be exact, and she acts like a baby most of the time, if not spacing out. But hey, Irene knows she act one as well but not as much as Seulgi, she knows her limit and the other doesn't.

The teacher came in to their class and their conversation halted at once.

---

"Are you okay with it now?" Irene asked Seulgi as they await for the new kid's arrival to the Kang family's household. Irene was not sure how she ended up in this situation, in the living room where Seulgi's parents asked them to wait, but maybe she was just too soft for her bestfriend when she begged for her saying she needed her at this moment. Irene obliged to the request but didn't forgot to ask permission to the elders of course.

"I don't know. What if she happened to be a freak, ugly and disgusting? What if she's a snob, a whiner, and has attitude problem?" Seulgi said as she imagined the worst. Yes, she hated this kid already even before she could see her but she can't imagine how she'll become of she turned out to be something even more hateable? Ugh.

Irene laughed. "Where is that judgment even coming from? Seulgi, she's only 6 years old. And besides, it's your future little sister not your future lover."

"I'm not judging, I'm just just expecting the worst."

"It would be better if you expect the best. But knowing your stand about the kid, that's impossible right now, huh? Hmm..." Irene sighed and her imagination was soaring as well with the what ifs of Seulgi. Her bestfriend's negativity is rubbing off on her. Sure, she likes and takes care of her own little sister and that she likes other 'cute' kids but not if they happened to be not so adorable and whiny that brings only headaches and heart attacks. She's easily startled by anything so she hopes the kid would be not so energetic or else, she's done in here and she'll go straight home.

"Oh my god! They're here!" Seulgi stood up from her seat and started pacing back and forth the moment she heard the car's engine.

Irene was left amused by her bestfriend, it looked like she's actually watching a panicked father waiting outside the labour room. Irene laughed and Seulgi automatically glared at her.

The front door opened before Seulgi was able to attack Irene with words and she had lost it.

"We're here!" Seulgi's mother announced happily. She was way too happy, as far as Seulgi could remember. She somehow felt a pang of jealousy building inside her.

The two elders went inside to which Seulgi and Irene went puzzled as to where the new kid was. It took them a few seconds to realize that the little girl was actually hiding behind the father's back. Her little hands grasping the pants of the man, afraid of the two teenagers in front of her.

Seulgi was eager to see her face but it was difficult for her. Her curiosity is killing her and Irene felt the same.

"Don't be afraid Seungwan, they're your big sisters Seulgi and Irene. They wanted to see you." The mother said playfully, obviously caught up by Seungwan's cuteness.

Seulgi and Irene thought that the name sounded boyish but that thought immediately ended when they finally saw little Seungwan's shy stature.

She was nothing but adorable. Seulgi admitted, fighting a squeal. She glanced at Irene who's still sitting on the sofa, checking if she caught her building adoration for the new kid, but then she realized that it wasn't only her that was charmed by Seungwan. Irene was completely caught off guard as well.  Seulgi smiled then turned and examined the new kid again. Seungwan's face was so endearing with that shy expression and she wonders what would she look like if she finally smiled. For a six year old kid, Seungwan was actually really small and the big white cottony dress that she's wearing gave off a squishy feeling. Seulgi can't help but wonder if she's actually real, her cuteness was something she could compare to any cute pokemon character. Seungwan's cheeks are so puffy that she can't wait to poke. Her eyes were so inviting which offers only soft gazes  that you'll be left with an impression that she's kind and easy to get along with even for a child. Damn Seulgi was supposed to be angry with her, what was happening?

"Good girl, Seungwan. Now go to your sisters while we prepare our lunch okay?" The father pats Seungwan's head earning a little giggle from the girl to which Irene and Seulgi immediately melted from the scene. Their eyes were both sparkling, anticipating to play with the new kid.

"Seulgi, I entrust to you your little sister. Be a good unnie and play with her, okay?" The mother said almost threateningly but smiled along the way when she saw Seulgi's reaction towards Seungwan. She was relieved that perhaps there's really nothing to worry about. She then turned to Irene who was also radiating the excitement to play with the younger girl. "Go play with her too, Irene. Please take care of our Seungwan if Seulgi happened to snap at her." Irene nodded earnestly.

"I kinda doubt that though." The father laughed after seeing her daughter, Seulgi. Then they both excused themselves leaving Seungwan standing awkwardly at her original place with eyes gazing at her.

"Come here, baby. Come." Seulgi gestured Seungwan to come closer to them and Irene finally stood up from her seat and went close to Seulgi.

"Looked like she doesn't look like a freak, ugly and disgusting. She's far from it, isn't she?" Irene smirked at her friend to which Seulgi just rolled her eyes.

"Yeah whatever."

Seulgi then looked at her little sister and transformed into a happy sunshine instantly, forgetting Irene's remarks. "Come here, Seungwan. Let's play?"

Little Seungwan finally gave in and started walking towards her. Irene and Seulgi were enthusiastic just by watching the little one walking towards them like it's the most adorable thing in the world. They both can't help but smile however it immediately changed into horror when Seungwan tripped on her way.

Holy Shit.

"Omo!!!" Irene got her first, a second after Seungwan's body meet the ground. She put her up in her arms and tapped Seungwan's back delicately. "Ssh.. it's okay, darling. Don't cry." She hugged her and comforted her but Seungwan wasn't really crying. She was fighting it.

"Yah! You're not her older sister! Give her to me, I'll be the one to comfort her." Seulgi instantly snatched her little sister away from Irene.

"Why are you so jealous? I'm not competing to be her older sister here. I was just fast I caught her first." Irene argued but quite saddened that the little ball of warmth vanished from her arms.

"Sorry, Rene. I just... maybe I just wanted to be the one she'll like first. You know.. maybe it's the older sister kind of thing? I don't know..." Seulgi explained herself almost inaudible but Irene understood. She was sure that Seulgi was having a sudden change of heart towards the sibling thing and she wouldn't really ask how or why just because she had witnessed it with her own eyes. Seungwan was really charming.

"I understand Seul, I won't get in your way of course. You're her older sister after all." Irene winked at her. They laughed for a few second sharing this moment together but was swayed away by a little adorable voice.

"I'm okay, unnie." Seungwan spoke as she kissed the cheek of Seulgi.

For a few seconds, Seulgi and Irene looked at each other, trying to comprehend what had just occured and then they look back to Seungwan.

"Kyaaaaaa! You're so cuuute!!!" Seulgi finally lose it and she hugged the fluffball even tighter, playfully swinging her away.

"Yah! How about Irene unnie? I was the one who got your first. This unnie wants a kiss too!" Irene pouted acting like a baby. She really wanted some kiss from little Seungwan as well.

But Seulgi kept the kid busy so she had not heard the request. Damn, Seulgi surely is enjoying this. Irene was left sad the entire day, it haunted her not having a kiss from the child.

---

"You looked really happy." Irene smiled as Seulgi approached the chair beside her. They were quite early today for the morning class, so they have time to chat about their favorite topic named Seungwan.

"Seriously, it has been just a few weeks and I'm so delighted by her. I didn't know I needed a little sister like this until she came to our life. I can't believe I was against at first about having a sibling. But Seungwan's so adorbs I can't stop myself from playing with her and making her happy." Seulgi said with so much joy and Irene was really happy for her.

Irene witnessed how Seungwan changed Seulgi for the good. Before, Seulgi was always spacing out for unknown reason to her but lately she's very attentive at everything and when she asked about it, Seulgi explained to her that she once spaced out while Seungwan was left in her care and the little one bumped her head on the edge of a chair making her cry out loud. It made Seulgi's heart broken right away and she had swear to become more attentive for Seungwan. Irene sees Seulgi becoming responsible and thoughtful as well, before she just wanted everything to herself but now she always thinks of Seungwan. The candy that she bought, the hair clip she treasured, and even the flowers being given to her by her admirers were all given to Seungwan after school. Speaking of after school too, Seulgi does not hang out anymore in the karaoke, shopping malls or wherever until late night. She always went straight home playing with her little sister. Seungwan was really the angel brought to them to correct whatever Irene and Seulgi's parents can't correct with her bad habits before.

"Aw. I wish to see Seungwan too. That little muffin I'm missing her so much." Irene said. The last time she saw the child was when she was brought to the Kang household. After that, Irene wasn't able to find time to visit the household due to exams week. "I could only hope she still remembers me."

"Of course, I always talk to her about you too you know. She wouldn't forget you, I won't let her." Seulgi encouraged her and Irene was ecstatic about it.

"Finally I could pay her a visit later after school. Thank god exams are all over today."

"Oh about that, can you come home without me and just play with Seungwan first? I was asked by mom to buy some groceries, Seungwan's needs to be exact." She pleads.

"Sure then. I could finally have Seungwan all for myself." Irene grinned, teasing her. She knew how Seulgi became over protective of Seungwan in such a short time they've spent together.

"Ya! You don't you ever brainwash my Seungwan! She liked me more than you coz I'm her big sister."

Irene laughed. "It's a good thing that Seungwan adjusted so well to her new environment. She isn't a snob, a whiner or has an attitude problem like you once imagined her to be."

"Aish. You really like bringing up the words I said in the past, huh?" Seulgi said annoyed but soon her features softens when she thought about how Seungwan's like a people's person. She's really not picky when it comes to people, well at first meeting she's shy and all, but once you got her trust and attention she could really get so bubbly. And it was painful for Seulgi to watch that Seungwnan likes everyone kind to her, because Seulgi just wants the kid all to herself. But she knows that it's impossible so she worked on at least being Seungwan's favorite person, that would be enough for her.

"Later, Seul. Teacher's here." Irene announced as she saw the teacher coming to their way.

---

Irene knocked on the door only to be opened by Seulgi's mom with a bright smile on her face.

"Irene! It's been a while, I'm glad you're able to come by." Mother Kang hugged Irene and welcomed her inside. Irene was always welcome to this household and she's more than thankful for them.

"Sorry, Auntie. But exams are over so I could spend more time here." She smiled genuinely.

"I'm glad about that. I'm sure Seulgi and Seungwan would be happy to have your company in the house."

Irene looked around the living room, she was checking where she could find an adorable ball of fluff. And Mother Kang was quick to catch Irene's troubles. "She's upstairs, inside her room. The one next to Seulgi's room. She's sleeping right now but since it's already dinner, please help me wake her up."

Irene carefully went upstairs as instructed by Seulgi's mom. To be honest, she's quite not feeling good about waking up Seungwan. Of course who in their right mind would want to disturb a child sleeping? That's probably heartbreaking to deprive someone a good sleep and worst for any child? Irene doesn't have the heart to do so especially imagining how peaceful Seungwan's face might be sleeping.

The moment Irene stepped into Seungwan's room, a pair of delighted eyes targeting her made her captivated. She was surprised that Seungwan was actually wide awake opposite of what her mother assumed. It didn't took long for Irene to notice the brightness of the child, jumping constantly upon recognition of her presence. Her doubts of Seungwan forgetting her was tossed immediately outside the window, and she smiled.

"Hello there, little Seungwan. Guess who's here?" She slanted a bit and clapped her hand as she gesture the child to come and welcome her with a hug. And being adorable as Seungwan could ever be, she made her way to Irene while skipping on her tracks excitedly. Finally this missing unnie she once got acquainted from a long ago had made an appearance in front of her again. Irene was quite impressed at how sharp Seungwan's memory in recognizing people.

The child literally threw herself in Irene's embrace that garnered a giggle from the teenager. "Aw, Seungwan you missed me that much?" She smiled and closed her eyes as she succumb to the comforting smell oozing from the child. She smelled like a baby. As much as Irene wanted to tighten her embrace over Seungwan, she knows she'll hurt her. So she had to control herself from the urge of squeezing the child due to her irresistible cuteness and pull back.

"Do you know who I am?" Irene started with a smile that doesn't go away the moment she saw Seungwan.

For a few seconds, she witnessed how the child tilted her head slightly and furrowed her eyebrows, a sign that she was trying to recall something. Irene immediately fight her urge yet again.

Aw, this cute adorable little sunshine.

"Pretty unnie." Seungwan pointed at her with a wide smile on her face, which Irene was slightly taken aback. She imagined the child to give up right after she feigned of recalling something from a memory that doesn't actually existed. Not that she had expected Seungwan to really recall her name anyway but to describe her like that was something she didn't saw coming. She remembers Seungwan as someone very shy so... the good remark from her was something that actually made her day.

"Aw. Really? You think I'm pretty?" She pinched Seungwan's cheeks playfully earning a chuckle from her before nodding in agreement.

"Irene unnie is pretty."

Irene gasped upon hearing her name. Aw did she really said my name? And calling me pretty at the same time? Aw Seungwan is so cute. What on earth did Seulgi tell her little sister to remember me this way?

"Up. Up."

Seungwan gestured to Irene that she wanted to be lifted up and so she did despite knowing that even though Seungwan is little for a 6 year old, she's still no longer a lightweight. But Irene didn't mind, just because the child was so endearing and it melts her heart once Seungwan pecked on her left cheek.

Aw. Can this child be even more adorbs?  I want to take her home now.

---

Seulgi joined the dinner after half an hour that Irene had spent with Seungwan. Then they all gathered and shared dinner together. Mother Kang and Seulgi took turns to feed Sungwan even though the child was constantly giving them both signal that she could actually feed herself just fine. But the two were quite worried that Seungwan might choke herself. Irene find it funny considering how Seungwan was pouting all that time she's being fed just because the adult around her were getting super protective of her even in her own food. She couldn't blame them though, if by chance she was seated near the chair of Seungwan then she might have done the same. Having a cute child in the family surely does bring joy and entertainment in the family especially when the child was actually very tamed unlike any other spoiled and hard headed ones that brings nothing but headaches and constant heart attacks. Irene's aware and she knows that the Kang family knew too how precious and rare of a kind Seungwan was. Being able to adopt someone like that makes them so lucky.

After the dinner and helping a bit on the chores, Irene and Seulgi played with Seungwan upstairs. Irene decided to stay the night as insisted by the Kangs since it'll be Saturday anyway tomorrow. The fact that she's been like part of the family, some of her clothes were already stocked in the house so there's no problem if any sudden overnights occured.

"Even though Seungwan has a room of her own, she always sleeps here at night."

"Oh, was it because she's scared?"

"Nope. She's a brave little girl, Rene."

"So you asked her and complied with your request."

"Can't help it. Never really thought I would be this fond of having a little sis, even though she's not my sister by blood. I don't know, maybe because Seungwan is so likeable that it's easy for me to adjust and accept her as part of our family." Seulgi said as she checks her little sister watching cartoon on the TV.

Irene also gazed at the child and she couldn't agree more to Seulgi's statement. There was just something about Seungwan that drew them close to her. If it were just any other kid, she thinks it would be impossible to have this urge to get closer to her in just a small amount of time. There really has to be something and she just couldn't point it out directly yet.

"Maybe..."

Irene looked at her bestfriend. "Maybe what?"

"Maybe she's my soulmate." Seulgi concluded and sheepishly grinned at the idea. To Irene, this type of grin is out of Seulgi's odd behavior when she's settling in for an idea that wasn't really well thought of. Something that just popped into her head and settle with it without proofs just to end an unendurable curiosity.

"I'm guessing you'll grow into a lady having a sister complex." Irene joked but this is by far a guess out of observation of the now. Seulgi is becoming more and more attached to Seungwan as day passes by.

"Yah. I just wanted the best for Seungwan. She's my lil sis after all." Seulgi said with a smug on her face. It's like saying, 'she's my lil sis so I do whatever I want so back off' kind of way.

Irene laughed. "Aw, too bad for Seungwan's future lover. I'll pray for his soul." She feigned praying.

Meanwhile, Seulgi was flabbergasted, eyes almost popping as she heard Irene. Realizations came gushing in and it caused her panic. "Omygod! Rene, my baby Seungwan is too young for that!"

"What? Time flies so fast, one thing you know Seungwan's already keeping a lover." She continued teasing.

"Irene, you'll be the death of me. I won't let that happen. Omygod I can't even imagine." Seulgi said with eyes starting to glisten due to the tears forming as she watches Seungwan still busy with TV. Her imagination travelling about the far future and Irene can't help but release her high pitch laugh enough to startle the little one.

"Pretty unnie? Are you okay?" Seungwan asked softly while her eyebrows furrowed. Concern was showing from her face and the two teenager was swooned.

"Sorry Seungwan, I made you worried. I'm okay, I just really laugh weirdly. Go watch TV again." Irene assured the little one and smiled at her. Seungwan then nodded upon understanding and resumed watching but not after she smiled back at her.

Upon watching the two's exchange, Seulgi was definitely not happy. "Holy cow, Irene. What are you teaching my lil sis to call you?"

"Come on, Seul. I don't know what you're talking about. I thought you're the one telling things about me to her?" Irene defended.

"I did tell her about you but never once I instructed her to call you pretty unnie?"

"Oh." The only sound that came out from Irene's mouth.

"Don't 'oh' me, you flirt. Stop flirting with my Seungwan, Irene. She's only 6 years old." Seulgi exageratedly reacted. Perhaps it's the sister complex kicking in but that's way too severe, Irene thought. Just because Seungwan called her pretty doesn't mean she earned it by flirting. Yes, Irene has a reputation of being a playgirl at school but there's no way she would stoop low and pick on sweet and innocent little boys and girls.

"Seulgi, stop accusing me of such. There's no way I'm gonna play with kids." That sounded a bit off so she corrected. "I mean I will play with her but not the play I play at school. Ugh, you know what I mean right? I swear, don't accuse me like this, I suddenly feel awful of a person."

Seulgi eyed her. "If Seungwan grew up into a beautiful lady, which I know she will, don't even think about it." She stated like she was joking but it came off like she's actually threatening.

"Oh god, Seulgi. Stop! I won't okay? She's only a kid! Do you really think I would  do that to Seungwan?"

"Promise?" Seulgi has to be sure.

Irene looked at her in disbelief, "Seulgi may I remind you, I'm your bestfriend since we were kids. You should know me by now."

"Exactly. I know you, so promise me pleeeeaase?" Seulgi wasn't the type to act tough for a long time so this time she settled in for an aegyo to have her way.

"Augh. Fine! You're disgusting good for nothing bestfriend accusing me of things." Irene gave in and pinky swore with Seulgi, earning the bear's signature smile where her facial features forming thin curves. She's a real emoji and Irene giggled.

Seulgi was satisfied and she joined Seungwan in watching. Meanwhile, Irene contemplated a bit. She watches the two from behind, she can't help but wonder about Seulgi's words. She's not the type to be into young ones right? There's no such trace in her dating history so why would Seulgi say such? Was she joking? But why did she want her to promise? Sister complex, it has to be. Then Irene's attention was fully caught when Seungwan's head tilted left and right then turned to her.

Is she looking for me?  She thought.

Irene observed Seungwan giving her signals to come to their side. She was adorably displaying her cute dreamy eyes, puffy cheekbones, and bright smile like usual. Features of Seungwan that are very inviting, enough for Irene to do whatever the child wants her to do. A smile crept her face and forgotten what she had been contemplating about as she stood up and walk her way to Seungwan and Seulgi's side.
